Despite a dressing of snow that made plant identification difficult until our volunteer Gerlinde Park dusted the snow off with a feather duster, the spring plant sale brought in $4000 for the Cumberland Community Forest Society on April 19th.

Down coats were the wardrobe of choice for volunteers, but merriment was the order of the day and many choice plants were sold at great prices to happy gardeners. Now more than 1000 plants remain and they will be readied for the next sale on May 17 when we will be a part of Mayday celebrations' market day. More plant donations are welcome. They can be dropped off at Grace's house at the corner of 3rd and Derwent in Cumberland; her number is 336-8921. If you would like them picked up or even dug out of the ground, call Ron at 336-2867.

Many many thanks to Grace and Ron and all the volunteers who came out on April 19th.
