I have been a resident of Cumberland for over 50 years and a member of Cumberland Council for 18 years.

I am currently working towards acquiring the land around Maple Lake, We would turn it into a park for fly fishing, and use the trails around the lake for everyone.

I would like to see our recycling program expand to include yard waste and kitchen organics. We need to lessen our use of the landfill.

The Beautification committee has been working on enhancing the dowtown core with planters, garbage cans, bike racks, new or existing trees, traffic flow, parking requirements, development of the alley ways, signage at our main entrances, additional bus shelters, and upgrading of our village buildings. These are a few of the suggestions put forward by the study. When monies become available council will decide which items to be implemented.

Council has been busy completing studies on our infrastructure: roads, sewer, water, liquid waste, parks, greenways and water metering. Once again when monies become available we will be able to upgrade our infrastructure.

Cultural Events in Cumberland have attracted many tourist into the Village. This has brought money to our bussiness community, I will continue to support these events and volunteer to help in any way I can.

For Twelve years I sat on the Heritage Commission as chair. During those years we were very successful in supporting a number of heritage projects. The one that stands out the most to me is the green book that we published, it is a book that informs people of Cumberlands heritage in buildings and people. It is an asset to us and our museum.
