Dear Friends of the Courtenay River Estuary:

RE: TWO CRITICALLY IMPORTANT MEETINGS TO DECIDE FATE OF THE DYKE ROAD GAS 'N' GO STATION

We are writing to you because either you, or an organization you belong to, have expressed your concern about the Gas "N" Go Station on the Dyke Road - either in letters to the Comox Valley Regional District or through indications to CREAC.

There are two critically important CVRD meetings coming up that we hope you will attend. This may be our last chance to stop this project and urge the regional district and Mr. Procter to come up with alternatives.

The first meeting is the CVRD Electoral Area Services Committee meeting--November 10, at 10.00 AM. It will be held at the Regional District Office, 600 Comox Road, Courtenay. The committee will review all the information on the project. It might then make a recommendation to the CVRD Board of Directors. CREAC will make a 10 minute presentation during this meeting outlining our concerns and potential solutions. Mr. Procter will also be present.

The second meeting is the meeting of the CVRD Board of Directors-November 25 at 4:00PM, also at the board office. The board will decide at this meeting whether to allow the project to continue.

Here is what you can do to help.

1. Come to both meetings-and bring at least two people (or more) with you. (Sorry the meetings are during working hours.) We need a large group-a full house-to make our point to the CVRD and Mr. Procter.
2. If you belong to an organization, forward this letter to the members of your group and ask them to attend.
3. Send this letter to people on your email list who might be able to attend.
4. Sign one of our petitions if you haven't done so already. We will have them at the meeting and will submit them to the Board on November 14. (And if you have signed petitions please get them in to Dawn Christian (339-2203) or Arlene Bell (890-3671).
