Many of you will be interested to note a compelling astronomical event that coincides with the timing of the American presidential election. Saturn (Old Guard) positions itself exactly opposite Uranus (New Wave) on Nov.4, 2008 as Americans elect a new president. This is surely cause for a moment of reflection.

The election comes in the wake of major financial collapse on a global scale. Examine the economic support base of each presidential candidate and it becomes clear that the Saturn/Uranus face-off is not reflected so much in the battle between US presidential hopefuls as it is between Empire and something transcendent to it. Some are calling it simply Earth Community.

The Old Guard of Empire is on its way out.

Through the revolutionary information technology offered by the Internet, the thinly veiled scam that is fractional reserve banking is being broadly exposed for what it really is: a centuries-long power grab by a monied Few, at the expense of a vast Many.

A New Wave

The Saturn/Uranus opposition signals that the time is ripe for an entirely New Wave of solutions to the monumental challenges of our era. Thankfully, many people are seizing the moment and are uniting to deconstruct Empire. They are co-creating re-localised communities where real people, not mountains of debt, stand behind the currencies exchanged. They are creating, preserving and sharing real wealth, not simply shuffling pieces of paper or digital bits and bytes controlled by financiers in far off places.

Many are calling it the Great Turning, a defining moment in history, and in each of our lives: an opportunity, and a calling, to be part of an extraordinary movement toward a life-sustaining global community.

This the era within which we live. This is our Zeitgeist!
