Hundreds of Cumberlanders joined dragons, friends and family for a lively, foot parade to the village park on a cold and rainy Saturday evening. A magical break in the weather opened the sky just long enough for everyone to enjoy a wonderful performance of music, fire dancing, fireworks and sky lantern release.

Thank you to the Nova Fire Dancers for their fabulous fire dancing and Phoenix Fire Signs for their awesome pyrotechnics. Thank you also to the Salt Spring musicians who backed up the performers and to the Festival Committee for a job well done.

Focused Psychic Energy

Could it be that the magic moment that parted the clouds during this event was more than just coincidence? The following passage is excerpted from the book 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl.

"Based on his years of fieldwork, anthropologist Peter Whiteley noted that Hopi ceremonies sometimes seem to have a direct effect on natural forces. If this is the case, it would mean that focused psychic energy can be used to alter climatic conditions — a potentially critical proposition in a time of accelerating climate shift."
