Yesterday was another one of those perfect summer evenings in our beautiful Union Bay. And what better way to take it in than by kayak!
The highlight of the paddle was a trip to the pilings near the log boom to observe a pair of new purple martins and to see two little beaks poking out of their nest (inside the piling). This location is now home to four custom-made purple martin nest boxes marked with numbers #25-28, thanks to the BC Purple Martin Stewardship & Recovery Program in Nanaimo.
