In case you didn't hear this one. Apparently, the UBID Administrator sent out email reminders for the Dec. 3, 2011, meeting to those on the mailing list UBID uses to notify residents of matters involving the Improvement District. This is the only reason this list should be used. This list was used previously by an employee of UBID to notify residents I had supposedly been reported to the Privacy Commissioner for my email and blog. Again, a big no no. Employees and Trustees have no business using this list for their personal causes.

There was an error and instead of the recipients receiving bcc where it would be impossible to see who was receiving the email, it was sent cc so everyone's email address was visible. Some recipients were upset their email addresses were now exposed to spam.

The kicker is, a past Trustee who received the email used the email addresses on the list to send a message indicating they should look at a post on a website and forward comments to another past Trustee. The past Trustee sent it to every single person - there are a lot of names and I'm not going to make it worse by posting them here.

This past Trustee did this knowing the error originated at the UBID office - knew it was an error - and took the opportunity to use that list exposing those who provided UBID with their addresses to keep confidential by distributing it further. Would this past Trustee have taken this action if it were a different Administrator - is he attempting to sabotage our new Administrator?

The past Trustee advised the woman`s email address is not retained and assured it will not be used for any further communications.

No apology, no reason. Completely disregards the seriousness of the breach.

This is exactly the attitude we have endured for years. The only way to change it is to speak up and demand the rules we are expected to abide by are also obeyed by those who enforce them.

Sorry folks, I meant to put my post on the Union Bay Section. Here's an update on the email incident. A Union Bay landowner sent the past Trustee an email asking where he obtained her email address.

It was obtained because of an error which exposed email addresses and suggests taking issue with the Administrator and Board - is basically the response received. Oh, and when the Trustee sent the emails, he made sure recipients knew He didn't want them to respond to Him. How convenient.

Wants people to complain about an error by the Administrator, bring it before the Board (as if they don't have enough shit to clean up) when He intentionally distributed the list. Ya, that is a really fine upstanding, neighborly, harmless good citizen type of thing to do isn't it?

Is this what you expect of those who are elected, serve their terms? Continue living and fail to relinquish what little authority they had upon leaving office?

I'll say it again in case they're still in fantasy land.

You are no one now. Just like the rest of us.

For years Mary Reynolds has maliciously verbally attacked the Trustees of the UBID. These attacks have been under the guise of "bad politics" but in reality were to support her own personal agenda, one that neither the UBID Board nor the majority of Union Bay agreed with.

Prior to the legal action being taken by the UBID Board and the 8 past Trustees, the two TAG supported Trustees on the Board were asked to intervene. They of course wouldn't do that because Mary was their friend and her attacks were supporting their TAG agenda to take control of the UBID Board.

The shoe is now on the other foot and Mary has directed her criticism at them. So what they could not do before apparently has no credence now as they have somehow managed to convince Mary not to be mean to them any more and shut her up.

There was never any intent to discredit or sabotage the present Administrator of UBID, her job is already hard enough under the circumstances. The intent was to let as many of Union Bay's landowners as possible know how TAG and it's UBID Board operates.

You don't like being exposed Mary, well too bad, because what goes around comes around.
