Brian McMahon, VP of Kensington Island Properties aka Coastal Point; Coastal Point; Union Bay Community (how ridiculous), submitted a letter to the editor of the Comox Valley Record, published Sept. 27, 2011 at:
http://www.bclocalnews.com/vancouver_island_north/comoxvalleyrecord/opinion/letters/130654798.htmlMcMahon starts with "Historically, we have stayed out of the fray but with so many ill-founded rumours out there, it was time for some facts."
McMahon has had his dirty little fingers in everything Union Bay since he arrived on the scene.
Susan Hargreaves, Ruth McVeigh and The Hat creating the fake Union Bay Residents Association under the direction of none other than Good Ole Bri, running it like a private club. McMahon's pr team, writing letters to the Regional District and Minister's Offices giving the impression they represented the community.
Dirty fingers meddling in the referendum regarding municipality status - running a full page ad encouraging residents to vote "YES", all the while proclaiming it made no difference to KIP.
McMahon promises KIP will pay to raise the dam, around 17 Million. November 2010, residents advised by UBID there is enough water in Langley Lake for the entire KIP project without raising the dam.
Admitting, AFTER a judge ruled residents were not given the opportunity to speak regarding the water source for KIP, he agreed - they were not given an opportunity.
UBID advises residents only 100 houses have been approved. KIP signs water agreement with UBID (for 500 houses) right before election.
VP McMahon wants to speak to voters at Annual General Meeting and election of Trustees BEFORE vote.
Conflict of Interest - let me count the ways.
Everything connected with this development seems 'odd', including stunts like putting residents at risk of having their homes flood because the developer failed to provide a storm water management plan, prior to clearing. This info is according to the Regional District who was unaware of the 30 plus acres cleared.
The ONLY reason this guy has any credibility is because he is attached to Jim Youngren. There is nothing about him that gives the impression of success on a major scale.
Remember folks, this guy is here to get this project completed - it's his job. It's not his love for us and our community.
