JULY 25, 2011 MINUTES

Present: Carol Snaden, May Gee, Grace Doherty, Florence Bell, John Leung, Imogene Lim, Lillian Tosoff, Joyce Lowe, Donna Lemay. Bernice Takahashi, Alex Snaden, Steve Morgan, Rocky Williams

1.Motion to approve the agenda. (Imogene/Flo) Carried.
2. Motion to adopt the June 28 meeting minutes with spelling correction. (Carol/Flo). Carried.
3. Unfinished Business
a. Wooden picnic table- grass was clipped, the table leveled and the bench repaired and painted by John

b. Disc Golf Proposal response - David advised Grace on Saturday that he had told Max Outendag that the proposal was not accepted and that the equipment would have to be removed from the park.

c. Asian-style bridge- Unfortunately Ray was unable to be here as planned and also unable to meet with David Durrant about the bridge proposal. He will telephone David.

d. Signage update - Imogene met with museum staff about internal signage and will try to contact Meaghan later today about the Jumbo's Cabin signs.

e. Pavilion ceiling - John rented a compressor and his friend Rudy Walters spray-painted the pavilion ceiling using his self-propelled cherry picker. John was repaid the rental, paint cost and lunch with Rudy from the credit union account.

f. Walking Park boundaries with Rocky Williams- To proceed on adjournment, followed by baked treats from Imogene, Joyce, Flo and John. Thanks to all of you!

g. Election of new executive - Grace is not going to stand as chair for another year
4.New Business
a. Bark mulch - 3 pickup truck loads of bark mulch were donated by Roger and Debra LeFebre. Roger and Grace spread it under the wooden picnic table and at the far end of Haa Gai where it is quite muddy. Grace sent a thank you to "Beefs and Bouquets"

b. Drilling for water. A test hole was drilled 85-100 ' down just to the left of the red gate. It is one of 3 attempts on Village property to tap into an aquifer in areas believed to be glacial basins.
