Pay attention Cumberlanders. You are The Corporation of Cumberland and if you own property in this Village, your taxes will be impacted by the decisions made by this council. Last night I watched as Cumberland Council lifted the water hook-up moratorium. Where were the facts and figures to support this quick reversal by council? We have had an unusually cool summer. Before we get too excited by the test drilling for water in the Cumberland Coal Creek Park, shouldn't we have a clear idea of how much water may be available there? A high snowpack this year has put a lot of water into the Comox Lake system and aquifers. Has this impacted the drilling results? Are we going to fix the Hamilton Lake dam or are we depending on the new quick fix to save us? Is our ship sailing without a rudder?
