On the link below - I found this on The Guardian website in UK a few days ago. The photos are evocative and the music hauntingly beautiful - reminds one of the brass bands of coal mining communities in UK - many of these communities very hard hit with the government's closure of the mines in the 1980s and 1990s. I thought it might be a good posting on The Cumberlander website - coal mining's not so different wherever it's done.
