I am thrilled the Union Bay Improvement District has been removed from the lawsuit and consent order against me. It's been quite the battle, but thanks to individuals like John Dixon who successfully upheld our Charter Rights with the Dixon v City of Powell River case, and to my lawyer, Jason Gratl, Vice President of the BC Civil Liberties Association, I once again enjoy freedom of speech. Yesterday was the most meaningful Canada Day in my life.
Union Bay, my community, has been governed by individuals who now are facing questions in an atmosphere they no longer control. The truth is coming out.
There has been so much going on behind the scenes I have been unable to speak about. I will be posting the information regarding the ongoing investigations by the Ombudsperson Office, as I am advised.
I can tell firsthand, what Trustees Cleve Goldswain and Bruce Livesey were put through and how they were kept in the dark while the remainder of the Improvement District spent the public funds.
There are more absolutely glaring examples of conflict of interest.
I have a lot of individuals to thank for support, but I will not mention them publicly as I don't want them to be "targets".
