Disappointing test well results to be ignored by Cumberland council majority
Please attend the meeting tonight, June 27, at 7:00 1st and Penrith United Church if you are interested in running for council, supporting a candidate or just expressing your concern.
At the council meeting village leadership will put forward a motion to allow Trilogy to move forward despite the fact that the test well they drilled did not meet the minimum flow standards. Standards set by council in the first place.
We clearly need a change in leadership. Trilogy and other developers know they can promise the sky, get massive concessions from council, back out on earlier agreements, and again get council approval.
But in November we can make a change. When I first came to Cumberland I saw all of the lawn signs and bumper stickers asking the council to respect the OCP and then suggesting impeachment. I saw the frustration. Now it's time to take action in the only meaningful way we can. Elect a council in November that will represent the residents of Cumberland. The developers have millions of dollars at stake, but they won't be living here when all is said and done. We will. Hope to see you there.
Thanks,
Steve Morgan
