Seriously folks:
The annual Cumberland Community Forest Society spring plant sale will be held Saturday, April 16 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the corner of Third St. and Derwent Ave. in Cumberland.
Over 2500 potted plants will be offered, including a wide selection of flowering perennials, vines and small shrubs. Most plants come from donor gardens in the Comox Valley so are known to be hardy in our climate. CCFS volunteers will be available to advise on plants suitable for sunny, shady, dry or boggy conditions.
Plants, soil, pots and labour are all donated. With no overhead, all proceeds go toward current (over 150 acres) and future purchases of forest and wetlands, preserving these lands for recreational use in perpetuity. CCFS is committed to purchasing lands within the viewscape of Cumberland to preserve wildlife habitat and corridors, and to protect the network of existing trails for recreational use.
Come out and shop for bargain-priced plants, talk to one of our master gardeners, and help support the preservation of one of the Valley’s most precious resources – our natural parklands.
