Free Demonstration at Seeds - make your own Laundry Soap
On Thursday, February 17th from 3:00 to 5:00, Cumberland Community School Society Environment Club members will be on-site at Seeds Food Market as a part of the ongoing ‘Laundry Project’, initiated by the Cumberland Museum and Archives. Students will be sharing a recipe for making your own inexpensive, eco- laundry soap, along with tips for doing laundry in a more environmentally friendly way. Customers will receive a sample of the soap to take home and try.
“‘This event is a part of a new series of community-based projects from the Cumberland Museum and Archives that shine a spotlight on the beautifully mundane elements of domestic life – both in the past and in our contemporary everyday lives”, says Cumberland Museum staff. This month-long project runs until March 3rd and combines hands-on learning about the history of Cumberland with community projects in partnership with local businesses and other non-profit groups.
