Today, the New Democrat Climate Change Accountability Act (Bill C-311) passed its final vote in the House of Commons by a vote of 149 to 136.

“It is a great day for Canada as we finally have a blueprint for greening our future,” said New Democrat Leader Jack Layton. “We would not be here without the thousands of Canadians who called and wrote to their Members of Parliament, pushing them to finally adopt meaningful climate-change legislation.”

“It’s been a lot of work with a lot of ups and downs,” said Bruce Hyer (Thunder Bay–Superior North), who introduced the bill in the House. “But finally Canada will be on its way to having clear regulations and frameworks for fighting climate change. We can at least hold our heads up high in the international community.”

C-311 is the country’s only federal climate-change legislation and will make the government accountable to Canadians for action on climate change through regular reporting on measures to achieve firm targets.

How our Climate Change Accountability Act works
■Cuts greenhouse gas emissions – 25% below 1990 levels by 2020 and 80% by 2050
■Mandates the government to set regulations that ensure targets are met
■Punishes polluters who break regulations
■Ensures government accountability with publicized 5 year target plans
■Establishes independent reviews to ensure government measures reach targets

A Range of Questions
A few questions follow that give an idea of how some students approach the topic. Generally they accept global warming is due to humans & their concern is with the impact.

Grade 10;

How will global warming effect (sic) the wildlife?
Will a changing climate create more problems?
What advice would you offer high schoolers (sic) to help them slow down the progress of global warming?

Grade 7;

What is global warming doing to the earth?
What are some steps that can be taken to prevent global warming in our own homes & communities?

Grade 11;

Is climate change real or is the earth going through cycles?
In your opinion what are the biggest contributes (sic) to climate change?
How does cutting the rainforest effect (sic) global warming?
Do you think global warming will ever stop? When? Why?

So far the evidence is not much has changed. Henry Canby said that, “Arrogance, pedantry, and dogmatism are the occupational diseases of those who spend their lives directing the intellect of the young.” Add political bias & lack of understanding of the subject and there is little chance students will ask the right questions or understand the answers.
AGW is a FRAUD

It sure would be nice if the NDP stopped supporting the biggest scam ever to hit an unsuspecting public. CO2 is necessary for life and has no effect whatsoever on climate or weather.

The creeps who faked the science should be put in jail,, along with the creeps who continue to push the agenda. I can't vote NDP because they support fraud.

SIX THINGS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE:

1. The earth is cooling.
2. The Sun causes climate change.
3. Al Gore was wrong about C02.
4. Violent weather isn’t getting worse.
5. It’s been hotter.
6. Climate computer models are proven wrong.

This debate matters! The science matters.
