In mid-December,
Project Watershed received a communication to inform the not-for-profit society that they were granted a two-year amount of $40,000 from the
Vancouver Foundation.
The Vancouver Foundation is Canada’s largest and one of its oldest community foundations. Its mission is to create positive and lasting impacts in communities.
It does this by bringing together generous donors (large and small, individuals, groups and corporations) and linking their contributions to important work that addresses the needs and improves the lives of communities across the province.
“One of our current efforts is focused on the Courtenay River estuary,” reports Project Watershed society board member Paul Horgen.
“The Vancouver Foundation funds are dedicated towards partially supporting an estuary co-ordinator, and for specific mapping projects and education efforts dealing with the Courtenay River estuary.”
