This home at the west end of Coal Creek Historic Park is the only remaining building of Japanese No. 1 Town.
The attached narrative, an excerpt from the Park Projection Study of 2006 explains the significance of this building and the importance of acquiring it for park use.
Yuriko (Yuri) Shigematsu, nee Saito visited No. 1 Town with her family in April of 2007 shortly after her 90th birthday. The attached photo with her centre front includes members of the the Coal Creek Historic Park Advisory Committee as well as David Kydd and Jan Hellerud, the current owners.
