Cumberland Wetland Action Committee
October 5 Meeting Minutes

Present: Richard Drake, Ron Hansen, Mac Fraser, and Grace Doherty

Unfinished Business
1. Test cell- now built, will be monitored over the winter

2. Direction for the committee- Funding being used for other aspects of updating the storm and sanitary systems, so phase 3 of the project is not likely to go ahead soon. Discussion ensued on keeping up some momentum, public awareness of the Constructed Treatment Wetland concept. Ideas included another guided tour, expansion of group's interest to include other area wetlands or fundraising/locating alternate funding in order to proceed with the CTW pieces that aren't going to be included in the Village's funding anyway (e.g. building of an interpretive center to view the work when it does begin).

ACTION: Richard and Ron to attend the October 7th evening opportunity to meet the village's new Manager of Community Services Dave Durrant, to determine his role with this group.
Richard and Ron (in their roles as Public Advisory Committee members) to request a meeting with village Municipal Engineer Bob Hoffstrom to get an update on the LWMP.

1. Election of Officers

Treasurer (by acclamation): Ron Hansen

2. Opening a bank account for donations

ACTION: Richard to arrange appointment at Cumberland and District Credit Union 10 a.m.Tuesday, October 13, for the 3 signing officers, Ron, Grace and Richard.

3. Harvest Fair
The Cumberland Chamber of Commerce has invited community groups to participate, offering display tables upstairs in the Cultural Centre.
ACTION: Grace will get the materials from last year from Richard and set up a display
