On December 19, 2006, Cumberland Village Council granted third reading to Trilogy Properties Official Community Plan amendment thus moving it to a rezoning stage where a more detailed assessment of the proposal can be made. An article published in The Comox Valley Record on Dec.20, 2006 indicates that this decision meets wth considerable disfavour within the Cumberland community.

Spokepeople quoted in the CVR article include Richard Drake and Grace Doherty for the Cumberland Resident's Association, John Evans, CEO of Trilogy Development Corp., Mayor Fred Bates and councillors Gwyn Sproule, Leslie Baird, and Dale Frame for Cumberland Village. Without in any way restricting submissions from anyone else, I specifically invite these people to continue to explain their views about the OCP here on the newly-opened Cumberlander OCP Forum.
