When I was about 13, during WWII, there was a small pox outbreak in canada and all school children were vaccinated, including me (using the antiquated scratch the skin method.)
About a week later I contracted spinal meningitis, had a spinal tap, and spent about a week in the children's wing of VGH. Obviously! I recovered.
Connection? Don't know, but I think about it whenever the subject of vaccinations comes up.
Vigilence, widespread discussion, and some distrust of the experts who represent the drug companies is recommended.
