Teresa Wild
Dear Mr. Prime Minister,

I have been given your email address by the information unit. I am glad to know that you will be receiving my emails from now on. I started a correspondence yesterday, in lieu of taking part in elections. (please refer to my original email yesterday). I am a disgruntled member of an unrepresented, but large minority in this country.

I want to say that I am very disturbed and ashamed that my country is fighting an illegitimate war in Afghanistan. As a child born in the 1950's, I have always taken pride in the idea that Canada is a peace keeper in the world. Paul Martin spoke about his shame for Canada's place in the international market as laughable by the other G8 countries, and "did something about it". He, as well as Brian Mulroney, and many other prime ministers since, regardless of party affiliations, signed my country into many bad trade agreements that have crippled us, and, along with these, also pledged our military support in wars that we have no business being involved in.

There is much to be gained, both morally and economically, in having the reputation of being a safe and peaceful country, as Switzerland has proven time and time again. I am asking you to rebuild this reputation for Canada, by withdrawing our troops from all foreign soil, and concentrate on withdrawing from NAFTA and other shoddy trade agreements, as well. With our abundant resources, and comparatively small population, we Canadians should be the richest country in the world.

Show us that you can be the best and most effective Canadian prime minister in history by concentrating on bringing it all home; our soldiers, our oil, our water, our railroads, our wheat, our jobs, and our prideful peace.

Sincerely, Teresa Wild
