When my husband Jim and I were travelling in Thailand some 12 years ago (has it really been that long?), we were walking through the main walkway of a resort late in the evening, when the power went out. The sudden blackness was a shock to our eyes, and so we naturally came to a dead halt. On the trail speeding quickly towards us had been a local man on a bicycle. Instead of stopping as everyone else had, he ploughed ahead full speed while ringing his bell and yelling in a sweet Thai accent “Bicycle! Bicycle!” We have never forgotten this hilarious moment and have quoted him many times while enjoying recreating on our bikes back at home. Our entire family LOVES riding bike and we have been extremely fortunate to move to a community, where not only is it easy (just look at the network of trails just outside of your back door!), but it is actively promoted.

With the 2nd annual Comox Valley “Bike to Work Week” beginning next week, Seeds Food Market wanted to find a way to celebrate the fact that we live where it’s easy to bike year-round. We also wanted to make it more convenient for our customers to bike around town for their errands. So in Honour of Bike to Work Week May 11-17, we finally got around to installing some handy-dandy bike parking. It is located around the corner from the frontage of the building and is in front of a window so that you can still see your bike while you are shopping. Enjoy – feedback is welcomed.......and if you can – join others around the Valley next week and use your bike to get to work and for running errands!
