In a phone conversation with a close relative last night, we were presented with his concern about the imminent demise of the Wilkins Ice Sheet in Antarctica, as yet another alarm as to the effects of global warming. We decided to check it out, and googled it for images. We found some really good aerial views of the thing, and also read the stats that the usual 100 mile-wide connection to the rest of the ice is down to 500 feet. Anyway, yeah, it looks like it's getting ready to come loose.

Other research has convinced us that this ongoing ice sheet break-off is normal. "They" have been talking cataclysm for ages, in reference to the Ross Ice sheet, for example. If THAT one has broken off, well, it never made the news to the extent that we heard about it, and it hasn't affected the ocean levels, as the computer models "proved".

By the look of the Wilkins, this is a natural result of the yearly build-up of ice from the south pole. When summer comes (which has just passed down there) you will get big chunks breaking off around the edges. They have to go somewhere, and they are already floating on sea water around the whole perimeter of the continent. They have already displaced their weight in the water, unless this little 500 ft ice bridge is holding it up!

A huge displacement of water and rising sea level, like the CO2 "threat", is a scare-scenario, and is being used to manipulate us all into paying green-taxes to the IMF, and to distract us from the real environmental disasters, which are corporate-driven. (I call this manipulation "gang-green"...)

But I'm not saying we are not on Red Alert. WHAT ARE THE REAL ENVIRONMENTAL THREATS?

From what I have heard, these are a just few real heart-breakers: Chemtrails, satellite arrays to block the sun, and other forms of weather control, genetic manipulation and race-specific viruses manufactured by government-funded labs, plastic waste glutting the oceans and all the world ecosystems (and its cancer-causing hormone-mimickers), destruction of the world's forests, and, my personal favorite, nuclear waste dumps. All these threaten the entire biosphere, and are generally being perpetrated by the corporations/banks that stand to profit by them. So nothing is done, because they don't want to lose the huge $ involved in the plundering of the free Earth.

Legislation could change any of these in a twinkling and the people would gladly go along with it, sacrificing little to gain much... Rather than imposing highly questionable global carbon taxes, for example, why not just say "NO" to any more DNA-splicing experiments? Just make it illegal! Or, do not manufacture ANY MORE plastic, and recycle the stuff we already have covering the planet. Close down the nuclear reactors and ship all the radioactive waste to space with all the other radioactivity. Gone. Done.

Of course, then we need the people to wake up to the truth of what is being done in the name of economics and ecology, and vote for the people who would act on OUR behalf, rather than the interests of a corporatocracy.
