An oil painting by Cumberland artist Teresa Wild is the cover image of the 2010 version of the internationally popular women's datebook called We'Moon. It is also published as the cover of the We'Moon 2010 wall calendar.

Wild's image "Fire Dancer, " inspired by her experience of Cumberland's 2007 Lantern Festival, was chosen out of hundreds of submissions by artists from around the world.

The 2010 We'Moon datebook includes writing by Vandana Shiva, Naomi Shihab Nye, Ffiona Morgan, Mama Donna Henes, and art by Jeannine Chappell, Alicia Siu Bernal, Leah Marie Dorion, Carolyn Hillyer—and so many other gifted artists and writers.

Only a few of the 2010 wall calendars are still available from the artist herself but both datebooks and calendars are available for purchase from the following outlets in the region:

Abraxas Books & Gifts - Denman Island - datebook only.
Blue Heron Books - Courtenay - datebook only.
Laughing Oyster Book Shop - Courtenay - datebook only.
Winds of Change - Courtenay - 2 kinds of datebook and calendar.

International orders for We'Moon 2010 products can be processed directly through the We'Moon website where the following message is posted:

We’Moon 2010 is dedicated to women who are reinventing the wheel by re-imagining our dwellings. A portion of our proceeds will go to Mudgirls Natural Building Collective, a Canada-based group of women using ancient cob building techniques to reinvent the wheel of sustainable housing. Visit the MudGirls website for further information on this innovative work.

Also published by We'Moon Press is the childrens' book The Last Wild Witch by Starhawk, an eco-fable for kids and other free spirits.

As a person who has witnessed Teresa during creative moments and as a person who is honored with a few of her pieces, what ever Teresa lays here hands, heart and mind to, becomes fine works of art, some tactile, some textile, all visual beauties to behold - a mighty fine addition to anyone's home or collections. Couldn't be happier for your success, Teresa Wild
