Cumberland BC Marketplace
ABOUT MARKETPLACE

HOW IT WORKS

A Marketplace is where sellers and buyers meet. A marketplace rents tables and booths to the sellers and the marketplace also provides the grounds and advertising to gather the people to view the products. In our humble way, this electronic website provides all those ingredients and more. If you have an major item or many items to sell, the Marketplace gives YOU the easy tools to list and maintain your own table, ie. web page. It's as easy as filling out a form!

To begin using the Marketplace to sell your own items you will first need to become a Cumberlander sponsor.

SPONSORSHIP

The Cumberlander is a revolutionary, 21st Century, direct-edit, community-building website made freely available through public donations and through sponsorship advertising by over 3o local businesses. Established in 2006, The Cumberlander has become a vital community resource with a steadily increasing readership.

FOR A TOONIE A WEEK ($104 PER YEAR) SPONSORSHIP ON THE CUMBERLANDER PROVIDES YOU WITH THE FOLLOWING:

A home page that has a listing under the “Inside Pages” menu plus you can have your own page in MARKETPLACE with a lengthy description, 5 photos, 4 products with two photos each, prices, and contact information.

Your sponsorship presence is expandable.

Add products/items to your listing: $1 per item. Minimum 5 items at a time.

While the Marketplace-Sponsor-Page included in Level One is meant to be owner maintained, if you need assistance, arrangements can be made.

SPONSORSHIP ADD-ONS: ($100 per year per add-on)

1) SPECIAL SECTION
If you think of a newspaper, you’ll remember that it has Leisure, Sports, Financial, Modern Living and Entertainment Sections, to name a few. Here on The Cumberlander, sponsors can host a topic page of their own design. The Special Sections menu shows examples of this option.

2) INTERACTIVE MAP
This may be what you want to get readers or members to interact with you! For example, say you are a bird watching organization. You could have members and the general public pin-point a bird siting with a photo and description. You would be providing a general service and be gathering valuable information.

Your Special Section page is just like the Front Page but is specific to your organization or group. It has a Calendar, Classifieds, and a centre column for member articles and notices etc. When you submit an item to your Special Section on the Cumberlander, you will be able to assign it to include General Readers (Front Page) or just those readers accessing your Topic Page.

TRIAL RUN
Have a look at our Marketplace Menu of sponsors to get an idea of what can be done. Then contact us and we will set you up with a trial virtual selling table that only you can see. When you are ready, we will show the world your wares or talents.
